Over three years Prakti Design has developed a variety of household stoves that address local requirements within its target markets, as well as institutional stoves for schools, restaurants, and other large-kitchen applications. We focus solely on biomass cookstoves because biomass is the fuel at the bottom of the energy ladder, used by the poorest. Prakti stoves run on a wide diversity of biomass fuels: from wood to various kind of recycled briquettes from agricultural as well as urban waste, to charcoal.
Today our portfolio gathers 5 stoves developed for various environments and needs such as those of India, Nepal, Haiti, and many African cities. Our stoves consistently reduce fuel consumption by over 40% (household stoves) to 80% (institutional stoves). They drastically decrease toxic emissions by 40% to 80% compared to traditional stoves, or quasi-eliminate them with a chimney. Their superior look, usability, and durability strongly appeal to customers.
Prakti Leo wood stoves with one or two burners cook meals for 5 to 12 people.
The Leo charcoal stove can handle a variety of pot sizes and is itself available in two sizes.
The Orka stove is modulable to fit the diversity of cooking habits and local fuels across the world. It comes in different sizes that cook meals for 100 to 500 people.
All Prakti stoves are covered by a one-year limited warranty. They last five years with a local manual maintenance operated after 2.5 years. Third-party evaluations are available upon request.
